  • STARTUPS will support a bill that would provide for indexing the local option gas tax to the CPI.

  • STARTUPS will support incentive-based legislation for those counties that have passed the full local option gas tax. For example making the T.R.I.P. program 75% State and 25% local match for those counties, rather than the current 50%-50% match program for all counties.

  • STARTUPS will support adjusting the tolls on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to be comparable to the tolls on similar facilities within the state of Florida.

  • STARTUPS will support a bill amending Section 338.165 Florida Statutes to include that one quarter (¼) of the Skyway toll revenues collected be used to fund the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA.)

  • STARTUPS will support restoration and protection of the State Transportation Trust Fund and the retention of funding for programs i.e. T.R.I.P., C.I.G.P., etc.

  • STARTUPS will support the local option rental car surcharge for regional transportation including airports.

  • STARTUPS will support the practice of utilizing mobility fees as a tool for mitigating transportation impacts.

  • STARTUPS will support improvements to Port Manatee to take advantage of the Panama Canal expansion.

  • STARTUPS will support the U.S. Department of Transportation flexing Federal Transit Administration capital grant funds to local transit providers for capital purchases and/or operation and maintenance.
